File Access Denied Error

or

Cannot Find File c:\riswin\temp

File access denied error can occur for two reasons:

  1. You do not have permission to access the drive and folder selected. Call your computer technician to provide access.      OR

  2. Your anti-virus program is restricting the operation of the RIS program. Typical would be McAffe which must be removed. Other anti-virus programs mostly allow you to authorized the RIS program to operate without interference. If you have McAfee, you must remove it. If you have any other anti-virus product, review the documentation to allow the RIS program.

  3. You are running a backup "syncronization" program. These programs will interfere with normal operations. You must run those programs after business hours so that they do not interfere with RIS.

A simple test is to open Notepad and try to save the file to that folder. If you cannot save the file to that folder, then see 1,2 or 3 above. The RIS program is not the problem.
